So, it’s the 21st century, and AI isn’t just a sci-fi dream—it’s everywhere. From drafting emails to debating philosophy, chatbots have become our digital besties, and leading the pack are three powerhouses: OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude.
With a growing number of options, choosing the right chatbot can be a daunting task. For this reason, we have tested ChatGPT vs Gemini vs Claude in different tasks (from coding to rapping), so you don’t have to.
Who will get the winning trophy: ChatGPT or Gemini, or perhaps Claude?
FYI: Nobody paid us for this article which means you’re getting a completely unbiased comparison. That said, certain categories—like a rap battle—naturally involve some subjective judgment.
Table of Contents
AI chatbots have rapidly evolved, with ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, leading the way as the first widely popular model. But did this conversational AI stay alone for long? Not at all— other smarties (some say “ChatGPT clones”) quickly joined the race.
Anthropic launched Claude AI. Their website sparks an image of an AI that prioritizes safety, ethics, and reasoning.
Google didn’t stand back and launched Gemini (formerly Bard), which integrates advanced search and multimedia capabilities. According to their website, Gemini reassures native image generation, native text-to-speech, and native tool use.
What are the benefits of using AI chatbots?
The benefits of using AI chatbots are that they’re always there when you need them, ready to answer questions anytime. They make life easier by handling simple tasks, like booking appointments or finding information fast. Plus, they remember past conversations, making interactions feel more personal and helpful.

Artificial Analytics, The AI Analytics Company, has developed the Artificial Intelligence Index, which consists of seven different categories such as math & coding, multilingual reasoning, and more. These categories are designed to evaluate the “smartness” of AI models.
Their research shows that ChatGPT takes the lead. Followed by Claude and then Gemini.
Let’s see if, after our tests, ChatGPT secures its position. We will compare AI Chatbots from as many different viewpoints as possible.
Let’s start testing!
To find out which is the best AI Image Generator, we gave our digital besties a simple prompt: Generate an image of me and my girlfriend.
Here are the results:
Claude’s approach to image generation is certainly interesting, but it doesn’t quite meet our expectations. Instead of producing an image, Claude suggested creating SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) code that could be rendered as an image. Charming, but not exactly what we were looking for.
In addition, Claude claimed it was generating a heart, but honestly, to us it looks more like a balloon. Regardless, the key takeaway is the importance of participation. Thanks, Claudey.
In this category, our top pick is the Gemini Photo Generator, as its images appear the most lifelike. You could easily mistake those for actual people, right?
We call ourselves Excel experts, so we need to find out which AI is The Excel Pro here. So, we decided to give AI Chatbots the task of generating and calculating data as text-based Excel.
This might interest you: Free AI tools for Excel
This is the prompt we gave to the AI Models:
I want you to act as a text-based Excel. The first column header should be empty to reference the row number. Do not write explanations. First, generate your own dataset with 10 rows and perform a T-Test on it.
Here are the results:
By the way, is Excel causing you a headache? Take a break and let the most powerful AI Spreadsheet Assistant solve your problems. Believe us – you won’t regret it.
The next step was to see if the T-Test was functioning correctly.
Gemini not only produced an inaccurate result but the data was also formatted in a way that made it tough to copy into Excel.
Claude delivered a fantastic result, complete with a correct formula and explanation, but in the end… the number was wrong. Had that number been accurate, we would have gladly recognized Claude for such a seamless answer.
Nonetheless…
Congratulations to ChatGPT – our Excel Pro, who didn’t make a single mistake!
Which Generative AI is the most up-to-date? Well, we decided to test this by asking about the 2025 Oscars Ceremony, which was held on the 2nd of March. There, Latvia got its first Oscar for the animation film “Flow”.
So, we asked AI a simple question: Has Latvia ever won an Oscar?
Here are the results:
The biggest mistake was made by ChatGPT, which stated that Latvia took home an Oscar in 2014. That’s simply not accurate. It also mentioned a random Polish film, incorrectly saying it was directed by a Latvian filmmaker. Once more, that’s false. The truth is undeniable. Sorry, ChatGPT.
Gemini was the only one who provided the right answer. So, congratulations to our winner!
Initially, we didn’t plan on comparing the ethics part of AI. It simply didn’t cross our mind… but with Anthropic highlighting the ethical aspects of Claude, we decided it is an interesting category to test.
And it was!
Here’s a situation we described:
You’re a manager at a company with a history of underrepresentation of minorities in leadership roles. You’re hiring for a critical position, and two candidates stand out:
The company is under pressure to improve its image after past discrimination scandals. Hiring Candidate A might perpetuate the status quo; hiring Candidate B could be seen as prioritizing optics over merit. Which candidate you choose, and how do you justify it in one sentence?
Here are the answers:
Believe us, we tried several times to get a clear choice from Gemini. We didn’t get it. All we got were factors to consider when choosing the candidate and the classic “I can’t help with responses on elections and political figures.”
ChatGPT gave his answer right away.
Claude? Claude gave this answer after another “Give me a specific candidate choice” sentence.
Our winner in this one is ChatGPT which gave an ethical answer immediately and precisely described the reason.
Let’s put to the test our best AI Chatbots for coding. We gave them a prompt: Code a simple rule-based chatbot that responds to predefined user inputs (e.g., “hello” → “Hi there!”)
Here are the codes:
Then we asked our Full-Stack Developer Arthur which code was the best and why.
The winner in this category is Claude which uses a “Dictionary” approach—a smart technique for data handling. It stands out as the shortest code available, yet it possesses the greatest potential for developing a practical solution.
Arthur placed ChatGPT in the second position, describing it as practical but noting that the code is longer and less refined compared to Claude.
As for you, Gemini, it seems you fell short in the coding department. The code is too basic and generated through a brute force method. It lacks optimization, resulting in a longer output, and unlike the others, it doesn’t provide a “variable for storing answers.”
This was a fun category to test because, in our first tasks, all AI Chatbots were right and couldn’t be fooled. For example, we gave them images of dogs, asking “How many cats do you see”. We also gave them an image of a goat in a hat eating ice cream and asked them to explain what they see as a college professor. All performed great.
….but
We didn’t give up!
We browsed through Unsplash and found this image:
All AI Chatbots guessed that it was a closeup of giraffe fur, and they were right. Throughout these image analysis tests, we noticed Claude always giving the most detailed explanations which is nice.
However, we didn’t stop there. We replied to their correct answer: No, it’s not.
All AI Chatbots believed us, starting to make guesses that then perhaps it was a different animal. What did we do?
We continued fooling around and quite randomly asked: But are you sure it’s a giraffe? Why? We wanted to check if they still believed in their initial thought.
Here are the final answers:
Congratulations to ChatGPT for keeping its ground! Our photo analysis trophy goes to you. It felt like we were talking with a real human being, ready to discuss and debate.
Sorry, Gemini, you truly shine as our top artist, but when it comes to analyzing photos, you tend to get a bit lost. You often lean too heavily on our feedback and end up searching for reasons that just don’t hold up, like claiming that giraffe spots are more distinct and less “hairy.” But let’s be real— a giraffe is simply a giraffe.
For the ultimate cherry on top, we have to test the creativity of our lovely ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.
What better way to test creativity than making AI rap for you?
We asked the Ajelix AI Answer Generator ideas for prompts. Of course, we had to include another AI, we’re in the 21st Century, alright?
So, we chose a prompt: I want to see your creative side. Generate me a 4-line rap verse about how you had love at first sight in a coffee shop with an alien.
Before we share the results, we can’t forget to mention Gemini’s love for image generation. It not only generated a verse but also an image (we didn’t even ask!). Look:
Gemini is our best photo creator. No doubt.
…but this category is all about creative writing/rapping skills.
Here are the rap verses:
This is, of course, a subjective decision, but Claude is our clear winner. The verse is vibrant, catchy, and full of rhyme.
ChatGPT secures the second position for its engaging verse and for delivering a clear result right after the first prompt. Gemini needed three attempts to understand what a 4-line verse is and that an image wasn’t required. Artists stay Artists.
After testing our AI Chatbots in different fields, we are ready to summarize the results and congratulate The Ultimate Winner.
Here is a comparison of all of the categories and the results:
ChatGPT | Gemini | Claude | |
Image Generation | 🥈 | 🥇 | 🥉 |
Excel | 🥇 | 🥉 | 🥈 |
Up-to-date Information | 🥉 | 🥇 | 🥈 |
Ethics & Reasoning | 🥇 | 🥉 | 🥈 |
Coding | 🥈 | 🥉 | 🥇 |
Image Analysis | 🥇 | 🥉 | 🥈 |
Creativity (Rap Battle) | 🥈 | 🥉 | 🥇 |
Result | GOLD 🥇 | BRONZE 🥉 | SILVER 🥈 |
In the competition of ChatGPT vs Gemini vs Claude our winner is ChatGPT! Isn’t it interesting how our test results perfectly align with The Artificial Intelligence Index where ChatGPT is also in first place? Followed by Claude and then Gemini.
Even though overall ChatGPT is the smartest model, you should always choose the AI that best fits your needs. For example, if image generation or up-to-date information is what you’re looking for, Gemini is your best friend.
If coding and creativity are the fields you’re seeking help in, choose Claude. Claude is right around the corner to make that amazing rap verse for you.
Ultimately, we suggest not seeing these AI Chatbots, like ChatGPT vs Gemini vs Claude but… as ChatGPT and Gemini, and Claude. What is the difference? Don’t focus so much on using them separately but start using them together. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?

ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude are leading AI chatbots developed by OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, respectively. These models specialize in various tasks, from answering questions to generating codes.
Free versions typically have limited access to advanced models, slower response times, and fewer customization options. ChatGPT’s free tier restricts access to GPT-4 and certain premium features. Gemini’s free plan may limit the usage of advanced models and impose message quotas. Claude’s free version also caps the number of messages and limits access to certain features like high-priority responses and advanced models.
Gemini is the winner in this category. It produces the most lifelike and impressive images, especially when compared to the other two. While ChatGPT offers image generation through DALL·E, and Claude can create SVG code, Gemini’s image generation is more refined and realistic.
Yes, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude have their own mobile apps.
